Knowledge of runic writing reached the Nordic countries, as early as the 3:rd century A.D. After 400 A.D. it began to be used for inscriptions on stones. The stone was usually put up to commemorate a dead person or some great deed.

The inscription reads:
Kå Ulf and Auter errected this stone after Tume their brother, who owned the Gudis-snape (Gusnava).

Kå-Ulf und Auter brachten den Stein nach Tume. Ihr Bruder, der Gudis snape besaß (Gusnava).
Dieser Gedenkstein hat eine Höhe von 12,5 cm, Breite von 7 cm. Es wurde hier ein Kunststein verwendet, der von außen sehr viel Ähnlichkeit mit Granit hat. Die Runeninschriften befinden sich auf der Vorderseite vom Stein, sind schwarz und vertieft eingearbeitet. Die Runeninschrift wurde wie beim original wiedergegeben.
