Product information "Music CD Poeta Magica - Edda Vol. 2"

With the brand new CD "EDDA Vol. II - spoken Edda", "Poeta Magica" is doing the successful balancing act between music CD and audiobook. The poems of the Edda are heard as stories; sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes exhilarating. They were presented and written by the renowned philologist Prof. Dr. med. Ulrich Mehler, who also participated in the Edda production of "Sequentia" in 1999. The work is rounded off by the recitation of the original text of the "Grimnismäßigl", spoken by Rainer Hildebrand. The lyrics are accompanied by sounds of real instruments and embedded between tunes, which are among the oldest known from Scandinavia. With virtuosity, clear sound images, influences from classical to jazz and original compositions, the CD "EDDA Vol. II - spoken Edda" has its own unmistakable style, revealing a new facet with each new listen.

Music & Stories from Iceland and Scandinavia: As a continuation of the CD "EDDA - vol.I" POETA MAGICA presents the audiobook "EDDA - vol.II". The contemporary implementation of the powerful Old Norse song collection is a unique combination of narration, musical inspiration and virtuosity. The poems of the Edda are heard as stories; sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes exhilarating. They were presented and written by the renowned philologist Prof. Dr. med. Ulrich Mehler. The work is rounded off by the recitation of the original text of the "Grimnismäßigl", presented by Rainer Hildebrand. POETA MAGICA works with rare Nordic instruments: The ensemble of the "Nyckelharpa Pope" Holger Funke plays more than a dozen different Nyckelharpa models, sometimes traditional, sometimes influenced by jazz and classical, sometimes in their own compositions. A musical journey to the North according to the motto of POETA MAGICA: nordic.pagan.folk
