Man rune / life rune, growing upwards - the part that we can symbolically call the unearthly part of the world tree.
Represents the human being in his strength growing beyond himself, unfolding / striving upwards.
The Man Rune is also called Algiz Rune or Elhaz. It is a protection and defense rune that is assigned to the totem animal / elk.

It is wrong to view the Yr rune in the negative sense simply as a symbol of death, thus as the death rune.

Together, that is, one on top of the other, they symbolize the Hagal rune - the mother of all runes, which stands for wholeness, harmony and perfection of the universe as well as the all-pervasive.
The Hagalrune also symbolizes the world tree: the roots that go deep into the earth in the "primal", as well as the trunk and the branches that grow upwards.
