Product information "Germanic Frame - Spearhead (not suitable for exhibition combat)"
Germanic spearhead, forged - made of carbon steel.
Reconstruction of a Germanic spearhead (frame) - based on finds from the 1st to 5th century AD , in the South Germanic area.
The frame was very popular with the Germanic tribes and was used both as a throwing stick and for fencing in close combat.
This can be seen in spear shafts that have been preserved in Nordic bog finds using cut marks.
This replica is hand-forged from one piece of carbon steel. The cutting edge is slightly sharpened. The spearhead is deliberately not polished to a high gloss.
The visible hammer marks created by the forging give the spear blade a very rustic and authentic look.
