Product information "Spearhead made of Damascus steel - Germanic Frame, sharp (not suitable for exhibition combat)"

Germanic spearhead made of Damascus steel, forged - made of carbon steel.

Reconstruction of a Germanic spearhead (frame) - based on finds from the 1st to 5th century AD. . in the southern Germanic area.
The frame was very popular with the Germanic tribes and was used both as a projectile and for fencing in close combat.
This can be traced back to spear shafts that have been preserved in northern bog finds using cut marks.

This replica is hand forged from one piece of carbon steel. The cutting edge is slightly sharpened. The spearhead is deliberately not polished to a high gloss.
The visible hammer marks created by forging give the spear blade a very rustic and authentic look.

This replica is made from 512 layers of Damascus steel and is hand-forged. The cutting edge is slightly sharpened. The spearhead is deliberately not polished to a high gloss. The visible hammer marks created by forging give the spear blade a very rustic and authentic look.
Due to the different colors with varying carbon content, there are also impressive patterns of alternating layers, e.g. twisted, as so-called torsion damask, or in rose damask. Not least because of these patterns, the Damascus blades of the Middle Ages were attributed an inherent magic. The Edda describes a damascene sword blade as a bloody worm or a poisonous snake.
